Russia has offered to open flights from some Russian cities to Turkmenistan. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin.

"In my opinion, it is necessary to intensify the dialogue on increasing the volume of passenger traffic [between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation] by air and sea. On the Russian side, proposals have been put forward to open air links with St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Astrakhan and Novosibirsk, as well as to open a sea cruise along the Caspian Sea. I am sure that this will create conditions for the development of cultural, historical, medical and sanatorium tourism," he said.

Currently, two airlines operate flights from Turkmenistan to Russia - Turkmen Airlines and S7. Flights are operated to Moscow.
