Direct flights between Turkmenistan and Qatar are expected to open in the near future. This became known during a meeting between representatives of the Turkmenhovaellary Airline and the acting Ambassador of Qatar to Turkmenistan, Al-Remaihi Ghanem Abdullah, in Ashgabat.

During the talks, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of air transportation between the two friendly countries. Special attention was paid to the possibility of establishing direct and transit flights. Potential problems related to this and ways to solve them were discussed. It was proposed to organize promotions for Qatar Airways in Turkmenistan, including information on tariffs and services.

A proposal was also put forward to provide benefits to Qatari international airports in the event of the launch of a direct passenger flight Ashgabat - Doha - Ashgabat by the Turkmenhovaellary airline. This would facilitate cooperation in increasing the number of transit passengers.

It was noted that citizens of Turkmenistan traveling to Qatar will be able to use the online service to simplify obtaining a visa.

In general, the talks confirmed Turkmenistan's intention to continue the development of civil aviation in the country.
