President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to his compatriots and children on the occasion of International Children's Day, which is widely celebrated in the country.
"In the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state, this holiday occupies a special place in the life of our society and expresses Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of the United Nations regarding the rights and interests of children. Therefore, we, together with the international community, solemnly and enthusiastically celebrate this day in our beautiful homeland," the address reads.
Comprehensive care for the younger generation – the future of Turkmenistan – is one of the priority areas of state policy.
Ensuring social security for mothers and children is of paramount importance for the harmonious development of society and the state. This is why, at the state level, special attention is paid to fostering a sense of national pride in everyone, the dignified continuation of family traditions that have been refined throughout our glorious history, and the support and encouragement of large families.
"Our country actively cooperates with many states and authoritative international organizations, in particular with the United Nations and its specialized agencies – the Children's Fund, the Population Fund, the World Health Organization – in such priority areas as protecting the health and rights and interests of women and children, providing modern education, and raising young people based on high moral values. "All of this is aimed at strengthening peace, friendship, and goodwill, and achieving noble goals," the President concluded, wishing everyone good health, longevity, prosperity, and a happy life, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
It should be noted that numerous events are planned in Turkmenistan on June 1 in honor of this international holiday.
