Initiatives for the entry of Turkmen textile products into the Japanese market were discussed in Japan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations N. Agakhanov to the cities of Osaka and Tokyo, from August 30 to September 3, a number of bilateral meetings were held with Japanese organizations and companies working in the field of trade and textile industry.

A meeting was held in Tokyo with the Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation, member of the Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of ITOCHU Corporation, President of the Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Company H. Tsubai.

N. Agahanov also met with the President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) N. Ishiguro.

In Osaka, at the Turkmenistan pavilion at the World Expo 2025, meetings were held with the Deputy Secretary General of the Japan EXPO 2025 Association M. Ichinoki, as well as with the Commissioner of the National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia, the Director of the National Pavilion of Qatar at the World Expo 2025 and representatives of Masui Co. Ltd.

During the meetings, the parties discussed the opportunities of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, the development of export-import relations, as well as the promotion of initiatives to bring Turkmen textile products to the Japanese market, the source notes.
