President of Turkmenistan Holds Meeting on Agricultural Development

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhalliyev and the heads of the country’s provinces to discuss the development of the agricultural sector, TDH reports.

During the meeting, Vice-Premier T. Atakhalliyev reported on the current state of agricultural activities. Particular attention was given to preparations for cotton sowing, scheduled for March 26, and the condition of wheat crops.

The head of state emphasized the importance of adhering to agricultural regulations and instructed officials to ensure high-quality preparations for the sowing campaign. He also ordered the application of a second round of mineral fertilizers, irrigation of wheat fields, and measures to combat weeds and pests.

At present, the country is also planting potatoes, vegetables, and melons. Special attention is being paid to preparations for the silkworm cocoon production season, including seed procurement and agreements with producers. All activities are being carried out in line with Turkmenistan’s Social and Economic Development Program for 2022–2028 and the National Agricultural Program.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that strict adherence to agricultural regulations is a key factor in achieving high yields and advancing the agricultural sector.
