On March 21, Turkmenistan widely celebrated the National Spring Holiday – International Novruz Day. Traditionally, the main celebrations of the National Spring Holiday started at the Nowruz aaılasy, located in the Akhal Velayat, in the Ak Bugdai etrap.
Inspiring songs and music were played at the celebrations organized at Nowruz. In folklore and ethnographic stage productions and theatrical performances by artists, the historical traditions of the International Novruz Day were shown.
Decorated white yurts were installed here, creating a picturesque image of a Turkmen village. They reflected the customs and traditions of the people associated with family life and life in the village. In addition, works of folk decorative and applied arts and various types of national crafts were presented here.
Interesting national games and competitions were also held at Nowruz, and a palette of national dishes of the Turkmen people, which are an important part of their distinctive culture, was presented. One of the main treats of Novruz was "semen", a dish made from wheat, flour and sugar.
Dexterous riders on Akhal-Teke horses are traditionally the decoration of national holidays held in Turkmenistan.
It is worth noting that numerous foreign tourists took part in this large-scale celebration. Foreign guests had the opportunity to witness a vibrant Turkmen celebration filled with joy, songs, dances and fun.
In addition, on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday – the International Day of Novruz, celebrations were also held at the sites of "Turkmenin ak oyi" in the velayats of the country and in the city of Arkadag.
