In Ashgabat, the International Conference 'International Transport and Transit Corridors: Connectivity and Development – 2024,' dedicated to World Sustainable Transport Day, has started.
The plenary session, opened by the General Director of the Transport and Communications Agency of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakiyev, brought together high-ranking representatives of international organizations. Among the participants are the UN Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt, the Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union, Umberto de Pretto, and the heads of transport departments from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and Romania. The first day's conference program focuses on two key areas: the development of transport corridors and the search for innovative mechanisms for financing sustainable transport. During the conference, participants will discuss issues of effective integration of various transport systems and investment strategies.
A separate segment of the event will be a session dedicated to women in the transport industry. Experts will present success stories and discuss prospects for developing an inclusive corporate culture.
The conference will continue until November 27.
As we reported earlier, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated the participants of the conference dedicated to World Sustainable Transport Day.
