On November 3, the International Exhibition "Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan - 2024" and the conference "Development of Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan" began their work in Ashgabat.
The large-scale exposition "CIET 2024", organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production and the business association "Türkmen energiýa forum", is aimed at familiarizing with the successes of our country in the field of construction, industrial production, energy and chemical industries, road construction, as well as services, specialized equipment and advanced technologies offered by well-known world companies.
The solid composition of foreign participants testifies to the great interest of both long-standing and potential partners who are just looking at the promising Turkmen market. These are representatives of foreign companies and government agencies from near and far abroad countries, including Japan, China, the UAE, Turkey, Iran, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, etc.
Members of the Government, heads and employees of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of the media and public organizations were invited to the grand opening of the show.
Musical performances by creative groups added bright touches to the festive atmosphere reigning under the arches of the huge exhibition hall.
With great attention, numerous participants of the exhibition and conference listened to the welcoming Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent to them, which emphasizes that today our Fatherland is confidently moving along the path of progress and prosperity, having become one of the strong and steadily developing countries of the planet. The construction and industrial sector, like other areas of the national economy, is developing at an accelerated pace: tasks are being successfully solved to create innovative capacities, large industrial enterprises, increase import-substituting production and build up the export potential of the industry, and introduce a digital economy into it.
The head of state in his message expressed confidence that the exhibition and conference will play a significant role in the exchange of practical developments between domestic specialists and foreign companies, will allow for the establishment of broad cooperation with a view to the future and discuss projects of mutual interest.
Then, an extensive exposition was presented, telling about the progress of the unprecedented process of modernization and diversification of the construction and industrial sectors of the national economy, which have received their rapid development in the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state.
All this, combined with a far-sighted policy and a course taken towards active international cooperation, by all accounts, provides the most favorable conditions for the sustainable development of Turkmenistan, its constant economic growth.
As a result of the systematic implementation of the target strategy initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag and successfully continued under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, all these years modern industrial enterprises equipped with advanced technologies specializing in the production of a wide range of import-substituting and export-oriented products have been built in the country, an extensive transport infrastructure has been formed, and the scope of construction of social and cultural facilities has expanded.
The hallmark of our sovereign Fatherland has become the white marble Ashgabat, transformed beyond recognition, which has become not only the most beautiful, but also one of the most comfortable cities on the planet to live in. The success of the large-scale urban development program launched in the capital is already eloquently evidenced by the fact that in recent years a number of Ashgabat attractions have been included in the Guinness Book of Records.
Today, the construction and industrial complex is assigned a leading role in the consistent implementation of adopted state programs aimed at innovative development of the national economy, full-scale use of colossal natural resources, comprehensive reform of regions, construction of modern cities and villages, where optimal social infrastructure is formed that meets the requirements of the time.
The attention of guests and participants of the exhibition was immediately attracted by the models and banners depicting majestic administrative, educational, sports facilities, shopping and entertainment centers, luxury residential buildings, parks and luxury hotels, sports and health and medical complexes, high-speed highways, etc.
From this point of view, the current industry review is of interest not only to specialists, but also to numerous citizens and guests of the capital, for whom it has become a wonderful opportunity to see with their own eyes the dramatic changes that have occurred in such a short period of time in the appearance of Turkmen cities and villages, which have become a living embodiment of the creative spirit of the current era.
In just a couple of years, the unique city of Arkadag was created, which received a special legal status of a city of national importance on a legislative basis. Its grand opening on June 29, 2023 became a significant event in the history of not only domestic, but also the entire world urban development.
As is known, within the framework of the first stage of the megaproject on the territory of the new city, erected on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, 336 socio-cultural and other facilities were built and commissioned.
The construction of the second stage of the modern metropolis continues at an accelerated pace, which directly indicates the growing potential and strength of the national economy.
The smart city, located in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, is an illustrative example of a "smart" city, in whose life activities advanced digital, information and communication and "green" technologies are integrated.
It should be noted that the construction of the city of Arkadag and the development of its digital platform have become a kind of school for the practical application of theoretical knowledge, innovative proposals and ideas for students and faculty of domestic specialized higher educational institutions.
Special attention is paid here to such a relevant aspect as ecology. The successful solution of the tasks set in this area is evidenced by the fact that the city of Arkadag was awarded a certificate of accession to the project "Development of sustainable, green, climate-friendly cities with innovative solutions in the region of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe."
In total, the new unique city was awarded over 20 certificates and diplomas from major international organizations and a number of foreign companies.
As is known, the development of the construction industry is the most important priority of state development. Today, our country is effectively solving the problems of expanding and modernizing the infrastructure of the construction industry, creating new modern industries where innovative technologies are introduced, as well as increasing the volume of import-substituting and export-oriented products. Thanks to the targeted work carried out in this direction, opportunities have been created to fully provide the population and construction sites with high-quality industrial products from the richest reserves of local raw materials.
Today, specialized enterprises produce such popular building materials as cement, non-metallic, wall, finishing, waterproofing materials, metal products, glass, precast reinforced concrete and large-panel structures, expanded clay, kaolin, etc.
According to the requirements, only high-quality materials are used in the construction and finishing of facilities being built throughout the country. When selecting them, the climatic conditions of our region, compliance with environmental standards, durability and ease of use are taken into account.
The entire variety of products manufactured in the country, capable of competing in the world market, was presented in spacious exhibition pavilions by both the "heavyweights" of the domestic industrial sector and small private enterprises successfully mastering work in this segment.
Having taken a course on the formation of a competitive national economy and deepening market relations, Turkmenistan in every possible way stimulates the entrepreneurial activity of domestic business circles, creating optimal legal, economic, financial and social conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, supporting private initiative.
Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan take the most active part in the creation of modern enterprises for the production of building materials that meet international quality standards, as well as the construction of facilities of varying complexity for industrial and social and cultural purposes.
The potential and capabilities of the non-governmental sector in the construction industry have been demonstrated by private enterprises such as Geljege Miras, Demir ölçeg, Maksatly gerçek, Yhlas Kagyz, Arap ulagy, Ajaýyp gurluşyk, Nur bina gurluşyk, Rysgally Nesip, Elektron Ylhamy, Oguzabat, Ak bulut, Ynamly ojak, Muhammet-Balkan and many others, which are already well known in the country.
Paýhas Merkezi Economic Society also makes a worthy contribution to the industrial development of the country, providing domestic industrial enterprises with high-quality engineering and technical services and supporting the implementation of innovative technologies, installation and commissioning of industrial equipment.
Also, the share of entrepreneurs in other important areas, including road construction, cargo transportation, trade, and electric power, is increasing every year.
Receiving tangible support from the state, Turkmen entrepreneurs are enthusiastically mastering new areas of activity, including the electronics industry. The products of the economic society "Aýdyň gijeler", created jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production, are already well known in our country.
Having established cooperation with leading foreign companies, the economic society has studied the best world practices in the field of electronic equipment and has established the production of import-substituting goods, including computers, all-in-one computers, smartphones, routers, smart TVs, refrigerators, etc.
In short, the huge resource and economic potential, environmentally friendly and super-technological production focused on the production of high-quality, competitive products, today ensure a high rating of the domestic construction industry abroad and a steady increase in demand for products manufactured in the country.
The growing attention to the rapidly developing market of Turkmenistan, interested in attracting the best world experience and advanced technologies, is evidenced by the solid composition of foreign participants - representatives of business circles of countries of the near and far abroad.
Among them are both leading partners of our country ("Gap Inşaat", "Vozrozhdenie", etc.), and newcomers, who had a good opportunity to show their products and acquaint visitors of a large-scale exposition with the services provided in a variety of areas.
The stands of companies and firms engaged in construction and production of building materials, technical equipment of large industrial facilities and installations were especially crowded.
The achievements of the domestic electric power industry, road construction and chemical industry were also worthily presented at the exhibition site.
Thus, in the pavilion of the State Agency for Management of Highway Construction, samples of powerful construction equipment were demonstrated on monitors, which in recent years have been actively used in the implementation of important projects for the development of road transport infrastructure.
Road construction plans are closely interrelated with the solution of the tasks set to expand transport and transit corridors, active integration of our country, which has an advantageous geographical position, into the regional and international system of multimodal connections.
Taking into account that Turkmenistan is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of hydrocarbon, mineral and hydromineral raw material resources, much attention is also paid to the issues of increasing the production capacity of the chemical industry.
The enterprises subordinate to the State Concern "Türkmenhimiýa" have already established the production of high-quality chemical products that are in great demand both in the domestic and foreign markets, including mineral fertilizers. At the same time, steps are being actively developed to steadily expand the range and increase the production volumes of the most popular products.
An important role in the accelerated industrialization of the national economic complex is given to the energy industry.
As a result of large-scale reforms carried out in this area in recent years, ultra-modern power plants have been built in all regions of the Fatherland, generating capacities have been increased many times, new power transmission lines have been updated and laid, which has allowed not only to ensure energy independence of Turkmenistan, but also to significantly expand the possibilities of exporting electricity abroad.
Particular attention is paid to the implementation of large international projects, including the construction of the high-voltage power transmission line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP), which will become a real contribution of our country not only to strengthening stability and security in neighboring Afghanistan, but also to the sustainable socio-economic development of the region as a whole.
Thus, the main focus of the review is to demonstrate successes in the development of key segments of the national economy and the existing impressive potential, creating opportunities for long-term cooperation with all interested parties.
A more detailed exchange of views on promising areas of mutually beneficial partnership took place within the framework of the conference "Development of Construction, Industry, and Energy of Turkmenistan" held on the sidelines of "CIET 2024", which was attended by heads of industry ministries and departments of the country, domestic entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of foreign companies. The topic of the plenary session was new trends in the construction, industry and energy sector of Turkmenistan and prospects for interaction with foreign partners.
As noted, thanks to the successful implementation of comprehensive large-scale programs initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag and continued by Arkadagly Hero Serdar, key areas of the national economy received a powerful impetus for development, as a result of which Turkmenistan has maintained high rates of economic growth in recent years.
Over the years of sovereign development, our country has done a lot of work on the innovative development and diversification of the construction and industrial complex, the formation of its powerful infrastructure. Particular attention is paid to the modernization and technical re-equipment of existing enterprises, strengthening the scientific and technical base of the industry, and the introduction of effective economic tools.
The speeches emphasized that, possessing rich natural resources and actively implementing the "open door" policy, Turkmenistan is confidently expanding world economic ties, demonstrating every readiness to establish a constructive dialogue in mutual interests.
Having expressed gratitude for the high organizational level of the forum, its participants expressed their sincere appreciation to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Government of the country for the great attention paid to the development of the construction and industrial complex and the creation of opportunities for trusting cooperation.
Over the next two days, the forum will continue in five thematic sessions: "Accelerating the monetization and diversification of hydrocarbon resources with an emphasis on energy, gas chemistry and fertilizer production"; "Modern trends in architecture and urban development: the "smart" city of Arkadag - a city of the future and opportunities"; "Construction and industry: production of high-quality building materials and financing of new infrastructure projects"; "The role of public-private partnership in the development of construction, industry and construction of new roads"; "Technological innovations and training of qualified personnel for the construction, industrial and energy sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan", in which teachers and students of leading universities of our country will also take part online.
It is also planned to hold bilateral meetings of heads of ministries and departments of the domestic construction and industrial complex with representatives of foreign companies at the forum, which will serve to establish new business ties and exchange accumulated experience in these important areas.
Familiarization tours of Ashgabat and the outskirts of the Turkmen capital are organized for foreign guests.
On November 5, at the end of the three-day forum, a diploma award ceremony will be held for participants of the International Exhibition "Construction, Industry, Energy of Turkmenistan - 2024" and a press conference on the results of "CIET 2024".
