On February 22, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Assistant Director General, Regional Director of the International Labor Organization for Europe and Central Asia (CA) Beata Andres. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties noted the intensification of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Labor Organization. At the same time, the parties reviewed the results of a high-level round table held on February 21 of this year, and also discussed plans for cooperation with the ILO in 2024.

At the same time, issues of strengthening the legal framework by acceding to ILO conventions, the possibility of increasing the potential of Turkmen specialists, ensuring constant dialogue between social partners and preparing for upcoming events with the ILO, in particular the International Labor Conference, were considered.

In addition, the proposal of the Turkmen side to transfer the functions of ILO representatives to Ashgabat to coordinate work and regular dialogue with the Government of Turkmenistan was considered.
