Turkmenistan and Japan intend to expand economic partnership

Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova held a meeting in Japan with the Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, Yoshimasa Hayashi.

According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Gulmanova emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to partnership with Japan. The importance of dialogue in the “Central Asia + Japan” format was also noted.

The parties exchanged views on trade and economic relations and the need to continue joint work on promising projects in Turkmenistan with the participation of Japanese companies.

Particular attention was paid to expanding cultural and humanitarian contacts, including teaching languages in universities of the two countries.

Hayashi focused on the fact that the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the chapter “A good person is not forgotten” in his book “Continuation of the meaning of my life”, and expressed gratitude for the attention to the development of cooperation with Japan.
