On September 20, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in the format of a videoconference. The event discussed the key tasks of the socio-economic development of the country, considered draft documents and made important decisions. The meeting was attended by members of the State Security Council, as well as heads of regions and the capital, TDH reports.
One of the significant decisions was the signing by the President of a decree on pardoning 736 convicted citizens in honor of the upcoming Independence Day of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, reports were heard on legislative work, preparations for the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, the activities of deputies and their interaction with various state bodies and public associations. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the need for further development of draft laws aimed at strengthening the legal and economic foundations of the state.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the holding of the international forum "Interrelation of Epochs and Civilizations - the foundation of peace and development", dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraga. The Head of State signed a decree on the establishment of an organizing committee to hold this event at a high level.
The meeting also covered issues of foreign policy, international relations and the development of various sectors of the national economy. Following the discussions, the President gave specific instructions to the heads of the relevant departments.
