On September 15, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Honored Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made another working trip to the new city, where he familiarized himself with the projects of the second phase of construction and held a meeting with the relevant leaders.
Currently, the pace of construction of the next phase of the smart city, being built on the initiative and with the active support of Hero-Arkadag in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, is steadily increasing. In the implementation of projects for the construction of social and industrial infrastructure, as well as in their development, a responsible approach is manifested, taking into account all factors and requirements.
In the morning, the National Leader of the Turkmen people arrived in the city of Arkadag, which is built on the basis of the "smart city" concept and combines advanced technologies and traditions of national architecture.
These days, large-scale preparations for the country's main holiday - Independence Day of Turkmenistan - are unfolding here, as evidenced by the measures taken to maintain cleanliness and beautify city roads, parks, and areas around buildings.
Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan D. Orazov and head of the city administration G. Mammedova informed about the pace of construction work. Schemes and projects of social facilities planned for implementation were also presented.
These include a shopping center, a hotel with an original design solution, a modern park, comfortable high-rise residential buildings, a sanatorium, a general education center for information technology, a business center, and an agricultural university.
At the same time, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was presented with a project for a health park, as well as an electronic device for demonstrating carpets.
Having familiarized himself with the drawings of the planned construction projects, Hero-Arkadag made a number of comments and made adjustments. As noted, the upcoming new buildings should fully meet the criteria of the "smart city" concept. As for the social infrastructure facilities, it is necessary to ensure the compliance of design solutions with their profile at the design stage.
The Honored Architect of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, emphasized the importance of complying with the requirements when creating building projects specified in the urban planning program. Along with quality in the construction of facilities, it is necessary to take into account the landscape and ecosystem of the area.
In this regard, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty expressed the advisability of revising a number of projects, especially the campus of the Agricultural University. It is about creating an ensemble consisting of an educational building and other facilities, including for agricultural research, which is a priority requirement, Hero-Arkadag emphasized.
The new city, located in a picturesque corner against the backdrop of the majestic Kopetdag, must meet modern demands in all respects, and in this matter, it is necessary to rely on advanced practices, using high-strength building materials that will last a long time, said the National Leader of the Turkmen people and gave a number of relevant instructions.
In the construction of the second phase of the city of Arkadag, built according to the "smart city" concept, using innovative technologies and digital developments, it is important to combine elements of national architecture and the latest architectural achievements. This requirement applies to all structures, including residential ones.
The working meeting continued with a report from the mayor of the city, G. Mammedova, on measures for settling modern residential buildings, as well as preparations for celebrations on the occasion of significant dates in the national calendar. As noted, a program of cultural and mass events has been prepared in this regard.
Speaking about the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty, Independence Day, Health Workers and Medical Industry Day, and International Neutrality Day, Hero-Arkadag emphasized the importance of reflecting Turkmenistan's modern achievements in the cultural events dedicated to them. At the same time, during the celebrations, public utilities should coordinate their work to maintain impeccable cleanliness and order in the city.
The new city is recognized as a city of youth, and this places responsibility for the younger generation, including their upbringing in the spirit of patriotism, commitment to national traditions and customs. In this regard, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted the need for joint efforts to strengthen the young residents' love for the magnificent city and to raise them as worthy people.
To form a youth that honors its past, the noble traditions of the people that have developed over the centuries, and understands their importance, the participation of not only education system workers but also representatives of the older generation is required, which implies regular educational events of an instructive nature. At the same time, a joint approach will help increase the love of young Turkmens for their native land with its amazing nature, as well as pride in the achievements of the Motherland, said Hero-Arkadag.
Touching upon the topic of digital technologies in the new city, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted the need to expand the scope of relevant innovations. Along with this, attention should be paid to mastering advanced developments and implementing them in the residential buildings being constructed.
Today, the new city is widely known, its popularity is growing, as evidenced by the awarding of three special prizes to the city of Arkadag at the recent World Smart City Expo in the Republic of Korea. In this regard, Hero-Arkadag instructed to take appropriate measures to intensify international partnerships in this area.
Speaking about the implementation of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022–2028," the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the effectiveness of solving the tasks defined in it. As emphasized, such dynamics significantly positively influence the transformation of the appearance of cities and the improvement of the population's well-being.
