Turkmenistan and Malaysia discussed expanding cooperation on a wide range of issues

The Turkmen-Malaysian inter-MFA consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during which diplomats from the two countries discussed a wide range of issues of multilateral and bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Turkmen MFA reported.

The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov, and the Malaysian side was headed by Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato Ahmad Rozian bin Abd Ghani. During the consultations, the parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, energy and humanitarian spheres.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of high-level contacts and regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, which are considered a key factor in promoting Turkmen-Malaysian relations. The parties expressed mutual interest in further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation.

The meeting participants also discussed the possibility of holding joint business forums, thematic exhibitions and business missions on a regular basis, as well as intensifying contacts between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries. The great prospects for deepening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including in the fields of education, science, culture, tourism and healthcare, were particularly noted.
