The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Astana, took part in the official opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games. The event was held at the Astana Arena stadium under the motto "Meeting in the Great Steppe".

The opening ceremony marks the beginning of a unique project that combines sports, cultural and scientific programs aimed at studying and promoting national ethnic sports and nomadic culture.

The official logo of the games includes a solar rider, symbolizing vital energy, heart and sun, made in dark red tones associated with carnelian.

This year, 29 athletes and 6 coaches from Turkmenistan will take part in the games.
