On August 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil Company, Saeed Al Tayer.
Expressing gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting and the opportunity to discuss current issues of the established fruitful business partnership in a personal conversation, the guest, taking the opportunity, conveyed sincere words of greeting to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, whose name is inextricably linked with the achievements of sovereign Turkmenistan.
Having warmly welcomed the head of the world-famous company on the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land, the head of state expressed confidence that the meetings to be held during the current visit will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations.
As noted, friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates have been steadily developing over many years based on mutual understanding, trust and respect.
Currently, interaction between our countries is carried out at the bilateral level, as well as within the UN and other major international organizations.
The key vectors of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates include the fuel and energy complex.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, the oil and gas sector is one of the most dynamically developing industries in our country. The industrial development strategy is aimed at producing products for the national economy based on local raw materials, as well as for export.
“The United Arab Emirates has extensive experience in the fuel and energy sector,” the head of state said, noting with satisfaction the positive dynamics of cooperation in this area with leading UAE companies.
During the meeting, the possibilities of building up long-term successful partnership were discussed, taking into account the accumulated solid experience of joint work and Turkmenistan’s ambitious plans for the development of the fuel and energy complex. Among the priority tasks facing this key sector of the national economy is increasing the volume of oil and gas production and processing, as well as the export of Turkmen energy resources and finished oil and gas chemical products.
Taking into account the favorable conditions created in Turkmenistan for foreign business, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the presence of good prospects for expanding traditional cooperation and the readiness of the Turkmen side to consider specific proposals from the company.
Having thanked for the high level of trust, the businessman assured that the company he heads will continue to make every effort to clearly and strictly fulfill its contractual obligations.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil Saeed Al Tayer exchanged good wishes, expressing interest in further developing mutually beneficial partnership.
