On August 20, a meeting was held at the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Gurbanov and the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, during the meeting the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-American relations. As part of the interested exchange of views on the most important aspects and key areas of bilateral partnership, the parties noted their mutual commitment to deepening ties in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The diplomats positively assessed the format of Turkmen-American political consultations to discuss issues of mutual interest and coordinate joint actions to develop bilateral relations.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to maintain regular contacts in order to further strengthen cooperation and achieve mutual goals.
