President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in the Kazakh capital on a working visit, met with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The meeting was held with the participation of members of the delegations of the two countries.

Once again warmly welcoming his Turkmen counterpart and thanking him for accepting the invitation to visit Astana and participate in the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian states, the head of the friendly country stated the strategic, progressive nature of bilateral relations.
Expressing gratitude to the Head of Turkmenistan for the support and constant desire to strengthen multifaceted interstate relations, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed the great potential for building mutually beneficial partnership in trade, economic, transport, logistics, energy, industrial and other promising areas.
Touching upon the topic of traditional humanitarian cooperation and noting that in July this year a monument to the great Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fragi was unveiled in Astana, the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan addressed words of gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for participating in this celebration.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes to the Hero-Arkadag.
Thanking for the warm welcome, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the invitation to participate in the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, the President of Turkmenistan noted that it is designed to guarantee the maintenance of an atmosphere of friendship, good-neighborliness and constructive regional cooperation in the interests of our peoples. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the decisions taken within the framework of today's Summit will contribute to the further expansion and deepening of mutually beneficial partnership between the states of the region.
As for bilateral relations, as the head of Turkmenistan noted, our country pays great attention to cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that today's meetings will give an effective impetus to the development of cooperation between all participants, as well as become a new stage in the expansion of interstate partnership not only in the regional, but also in the multilateral format.
The Head of Turkmenistan also noted that on October 10-11 this year, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is expected in our country on an official visit and to participate in the International Forum on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Magtumugly Pragy.
Turning to the topic of trade and economic relations, which are one of the important areas of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the transport sector. It is proposed to strengthen joint work along the trans-Caspian transport corridor using the potential of seaports. At the same time, it is proposed to fully utilize the capabilities of the Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran railway and activate the functioning of the China-Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran transport and transit corridor.
Another priority area of economic cooperation is energy. As the head of Turkmenistan noted, during the meetings between Hero-Arkadag and the Kazakh leader, the possibilities of bilateral partnership in the gas sector were discussed. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again confirmed our country's readiness for the negotiation process on this topic. At the same time, it was noted that there is a great potential for cooperation in the field of electric power industry.
The cultural and humanitarian sphere is an integral part of the Turkmen-Kazakh relations. Speaking about this, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 25-27 this year. And in October, it is planned to hold Days of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan in our country.
The Head of Turkmenistan also said that appropriate work is currently underway to allocate a land plot in the territory of the city of Ashgabat to establish a monument to the Kazakh poet, philosopher, national educator Abai Kunanbayev.
During the meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on priority issues of bilateral partnership.
At the end of the meeting, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, expressing confidence in the further steady strengthening and expansion of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation, exchanged best wishes to each other and the fraternal peoples of both countries.
