His Excellency

Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov,

To the President of Turkmenistan

Your Excellency,

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to me and my delegation during my visit to Ashgabat. Turkmenistan's commitment to neutrality to strengthen close cooperation with the United Nations is deeply important, and I commend your personal involvement and leadership in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Turkmenistan's role in hosting the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia is particularly important and emphasizes the country's active position in promoting regional stability, as well as in developing dialogue and cooperation between the countries of Central Asia.

Let me express my gratitude for your excellent cooperation with the United Nations country team. Your allocation of an additional building for the UN system is another indicator of our strong partnership.

During my visit, I was honored to receive a commemorative medal in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly. This prestigious award reflects the deep connection and values we share. She encourages me to continue to strive for the ideals of harmony between people and nature, which Magtymguly Pragy defended.

I greatly value our partnership and look forward to further strengthening our joint efforts.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

With warmest regards

Antonio Guterres,

UN Secretary General.
