The state telecommunications company "Turkmentelecom" of the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" agency supports a wide range of modern telecommunications services throughout the country. Thanks to the progressive policies of the Government, the development of international fiber optic communication networks has become a key factor in the innovative and economic growth of the country. This is stated in the message of the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" agency.
Today, there are eight cross-border fiber optic highways operating in Turkmenistan, connecting the country with neighboring countries. These are communication systems: Ashgabat - Kuchan (Iran), Turkmenabat - Alat (Uzbekistan), Dashoguz - Gurlen (Uzbekistan), Garabogaz - Kendirli (Kazakhstan), 2 connections along the Kerki - Akina route (Afghanistan) and 2 connections along the Serhetabat - Herat route (Afghanistan).
The total length of communication lines in the country is 47,940.224 km, of which 12,252.855 km are fiber optic networks.
In accordance with the state strategy, the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" agency is actively working to increase the capacity of the transnational fiber optic system, increase the volume of transit traffic and develop new international fiber optic connections.
These efforts are aimed at turning Turkmenistan into an important regional telecommunications hub and strengthening its position in the international communications services market.
