The visit of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to Turkmenistan ended on July 7. At the Ashgabat International Airport, the distinguished guest was escorted by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The UN Secretary-General expressed gratitude for the hospitality and the effectiveness of the meetings and negotiations and noted the beauty of white marble Ashgabat and Turkmenistan's achievements in all areas, which made a great impression on him. Antonio Guterres stressed that independent, neutral Turkmenistan plays an important role in addressing important issues on the international agenda.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is strengthening its position among reliable partners of the United Nations, expressing confidence in the further development of fruitful relations, and wished the UN Secretary General a happy journey, TDH reports.
