On Sunday, July 7, elections of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan will be held in Ashgabat to replace those who left in three electoral districts of the capital. Voters will have to choose new deputies in districts No. 1 Garaşsyzlyk, No. 2 Bitaraplyk and No. 6 Köpetdag.
According to TDH, voting will take place at 60 polling stations from 7:00 to 19:00. The candidates are nominated by three political parties of the country, as well as groups of citizens. Several candidates are running for each district, which ensures an alternative nature of the elections.
The voting process will be monitored by national observers from political parties and public organizations. The election campaign was conducted in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan and international standards, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
