UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will begin a tour of Central Asian countries on June 29.
According to the UN News Service, the route includes Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The visit will last until July 7.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Guterres would hold meetings with heads of state and senior officials in each country. He will also get acquainted with projects to combat climate change and talk with local activists.
On July 4, the UN Secretary General will take part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana.
