President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the digital system, at which the results of the work of sectors of the national economy for five months of this year were reviewed.
The first speaker was the Chairman of the Mejlis D.Gulmanova, who informed about the results of the activities of the national Parliament in January–May.
Currently, the Working Commission, together with representatives of ministries and sectoral departments, is bringing into line with the realities of the time the current laws in the field of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, in the fields of agriculture, science, health, physical education and sports, and foreign policy.
Further, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H.Geldimyradov, reporting on macroeconomic indicators for the five months of this year, said that there is stable GDP growth.
In comparison with the same period of 2023, the volume of products produced increased in January–May. There are positive production indicators in the sectors of the economy.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Amanov reported on the results of work on increasing oil and gas production, as well as expanding energy supply routes to the world market in January–May 2024.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T.Atahalliyev reported on the results of the work carried out in the supervised industries in January–May of this year, and on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country.
It was reported that wheat harvesting has been organized in the Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats, and careful preparations are underway in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats for Kosovitsa, which starts here on June 14.
Further, the Deputy Prime Minister announced the good news about the successful fulfillment by domestic silk breeders of contractual obligations for harvesting cocoons.
It was noted that thanks to the large-scale state support, the workers of the industry, having handed over a rich harvest of cocoons to the harman of the Motherland, honorably fulfilled their contractual obligations.
Further, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B.Annamammedov reported on the results of the activities of the construction and industrial sectors for January–May 2024.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B.Atdaev reported on the results of the work of the ministries and departments of the trade and textile complexes, as well as the business sector in January–May 2024.
Further, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers M.Mammadova reported on the results of the activities of the supervised sphere for January–May of this year.
Then the floor was given to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, who informed about the good news from the UN headquarters located in New York. It was reported that Turkmenistan was elected Vice-Chairman of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly by full consensus. Then the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the results of the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for January–May.
The following was reported on the results of the activities of subordinate institutions for five months of the year by the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers M.Chakyev.
During the reporting period, the growth rate for the performance of works and services in this complex is 117.5 percent.
Then, addressing the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that the results of the work carried out in the country over the five months of this year demonstrate the success of the implementation of the adopted programs. Thus, in the period under review, the GDP growth rate was 6.3 percent. This figure in the industrial complex is 3.6 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 7.1 percent, in the service sector – 7.9 percent, in trade – 7.8 percent, in construction – 7.8 percent, in agriculture – 5.4 percent.
During the designated period, large industrial and social facilities were also inaugurated and put into operation in the Motherland.
Further, the head of state emphasized that Science Day will be widely celebrated in our country on June 12. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan attaches special importance to the development of this sphere. All conditions have been created so that our citizens can engage in scientific and educational activities, making a worthy contribution to modern scientific progress, the head of state said, congratulating the participants of the meeting and all Turkmen citizens on this wonderful holiday.
