A meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States has begun in the Turkmen capital.
As an associate member of the CIS, neutral Turkmenistan demonstrates its commitment to an equal and fruitful dialogue in the Commonwealth space, which meets the priorities of the foreign policy course of the Motherland initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and now successfully implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. One of the key vectors of this strategy is broad constructive cooperation, both in a bilateral and multilateral format, through reputable international and regional organizations and structures.
Building relations with the CIS member states and, in general, partnership within the Commonwealth on a solid foundation of friendship and good-neighborliness, historically established ties, Turkmenistan regularly participates in important meetings and forums in the CIS format, as well as is the venue for them. Taking an active position on issues of interstate cooperation, our country is taking consistent steps in this direction and putting forward specific initiatives.
Representative delegations of the CIS member states have arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The venue of the meeting was the capital's Garagum Hotel. This modern complex provides all the conditions for the reception of foreign guests, as well as for the organization of major international events.
