The national Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Neda Berger, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in cultural events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great classic poet of the Turkmen people Makhtumkuli Fragi, TDH reports.
Warmly greeting the guest and congratulating her on her recent birthday, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the significant contribution of Neda Berger as the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society to the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
Highly appreciating the great work carried out by Neda Berger to establish close business contacts in the field of culture, art and the media, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed his gratitude to her for her efforts in bringing the two countries closer, building bridges of friendship and cooperation.
In this regard, they expressed confidence that the current visit to Turkmenistan would be an important step towards expanding bilateral relations and would give a new impetus to the further development of mutually beneficial partnership.
As you know, the Turkmen-Austrian Society was established 16 years ago. This event was timed to coincide with the first official visit to Austria of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who was the President of Turkmenistan at that time. Over the past years, the Turkmen-Austrian Galkynyş Symphony Orchestra was established on the initiative and thanks to the support of the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The Vienna Balls were held in Turkmenistan with great success.
Great importance is attached to the coverage of events taking place in Turkmenistan. Thus, the Society's website publishes materials in Russian, English and German, which are read in 30 countries around the world.
As the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society noted, there is still a lot of work ahead, including the implementation of the initiative to establish the House of Austria in Ashgabat next year, which is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 70th anniversary of Austria's permanent neutrality.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the Austrian side for supporting Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the importance of strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties.
As it was emphasized, the creative activity of the Turkmen-Austrian Society has become an example of fruitful cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, which contributes to the rapprochement of the two peoples.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the head of the Society Neda Berger good health, prosperity and great success in important and responsible activities, noting that he would be glad to see her among the honored guests at the upcoming grand celebrations in honor of the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker of the East Makhtumkuli Fraga.
