The President of Turkmenistan completed a working visit to Moscow and returned to Ashgabat

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned to Ashgabat, completing a working visit to Russia, during which he took part as an honorary guest in the celebrations on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the information program "Vatan" reported.

On the morning of May 9, at the appointed time, the presidential motorcade arrived at the Kremlin building, where the head of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by the Russian leader.

From the Kremlin, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, along with other distinguished guests – heads of delegations who arrived in Moscow to participate in the festive events, headed to the venue of the solemn military parade – the Central Podium on Red Square.

It is worth noting that during the harsh years of the war, more than 265,000 brave Turkmen fought at the front. Many of them were awarded military orders and medals for their heroism. 104 soldiers were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, 19 front-line soldiers became full holders of the Order of Glory.

At the end of the military parade, according to the established good tradition, the heads of state taking part in the celebrations on the occasion of the significant date walked to the Alexander Garden, located along the Kremlin Wall, where a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier.

The President of Turkmenistan, paying tribute to the memory and respect of the heroes who stood up for the protection of peaceful life and freedom of all mankind and fell in the battle against fascism on the fields of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, laid red carnations to the Eternal Flame.

At the end of the celebrations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to Vnukovo-2 airport, from where he flew to Ashgabat.

After a while, the plane of the head of state landed at the capital's International Airport, where the President of Turkmenistan was met by officials.
