The Arab Economic Cooperation Forum with Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan was held in Doha

The third meeting of the Arab Economic Cooperation Forum with the Countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Doha, Qatar, from April 29 to 30. During the forum, the delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy B.Yalakov.

During his speech, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Abul Gheit stressed the interconnection of the Arab region, Central Asia and Azerbaijan, noting their common geographical, civilizational and cultural ties.

Speaking at the forum, the Turkmen side noted the importance of implementing efforts to ensure sustainable economic development of Azerbaijan, Central Asian countries and Arab countries, and also stressed that trade and industry, transport and energy, and the environment are priority areas for enhancing cooperation in various sectors of the economy.

Within the framework of the forum, a meeting was held with the head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. During the conversation, the sides discussed the development of bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and drew attention to the importance of exchanging visits at the highest level. At the same time, it was noted that the holding of days of culture of the two peoples and the work of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
