On August 12, as part of the celebrations for Caspian Sea Day held in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of international organizations and diplomats. Discussions took place with Serhan Aktoprak, Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration for Central Asia; Beata Peksa, Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan; Xiaojun Grace Wang, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan; and William Leaf, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, key topics were discussed, including ensuring sustainable development in the Caspian region, environmental protection, and advancing environmental diplomacy. The parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects aimed at preserving the unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea.

The meetings also touched upon the transition to a "green" economy, strengthening energy security, and expanding cooperation with specialized UN agencies. International partners highly praised Turkmenistan's environmental initiatives and expressed full support for the projects being implemented in the country to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
