President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, who is visiting the country. During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation, according to Watan news program on Wednesday.

Yermek Kosherbayev expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to its traditionally friendly and good-neighbourly relations with Turkmenistan. He also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked for the kind words and extended his best wishes to the President of Kazakhstan. The Head of State expressed confidence that the Turkmen-Kazakh political consultations to be held during the visit would contribute to further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides noted the importance of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries, cooperation formats such as “Central Asia+”, as well as the work of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh commission in developing bilateral relations. The results of the activities of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh commission held in Astana to develop bilateral relations were also noted.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev expressed confidence in the further development of Turkmen-Kazakh relations and exchanged best wishes.
