President of Turkmenistan and Doctor of Political Sciences Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been awarded the academic title of Professor in the fields of economics and political sciences, according to official Turkmen media on Thursday.

The decision was adopted by the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Turkmenistan based on recommendations from academic councils, as well as conclusions issued by the Commission’s councils for humanitarian sciences and for economics, law, and sociology.

According to the report, the title conferred in recognition of significant contribution to modern science, role in implementing scientific-production, innovation-industrial, socio-economic, and scientific-technological reforms serving national and global interests, as well as his efforts to pursue a peace-oriented domestic and foreign policy and expand international cooperation.

In addition, following to a resolution of the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Gurbangulyyevich Berdimuhamedov was elected an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in the fields of economics and political sciences.
