ASHGABAT, 2026 — Under the wise leadership of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan, a new chapter in the country technological history is being written. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the successful launch into orbit of Turkmenistan first national communications satellite “TürkmenÄlem52°E.” This milestone is not only a symbol of national prestige but also clear evidence of the country transformation into a major regional media hub.

Since taking its orbital position in April 2015, the “TürkmenÄlem52°E” satellite has utilized its strategically advantageous location to provide high-quality communication services across a vast territory, including dozens of nations throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Today, hundreds of international television and radio channels are broadcast regularly via the national satellite. This confirms that Turkmenistan occupies a key position in the global information services market. The broadcasting of foreign television channels in more than ten world languages promotes active cultural exchange and strengthens international friendly relations.

The uninterrupted operation of the satellite over the past eleven years has enabled the realization of several critical objectives:

• Independent broadcasting of national television and radio channels has been ensured on a global scale.
• High-quality digital television and high-speed satellite internet have become accessible even in the most remote corners of our country.
• Through VSAT communication services, the Closed Joint-Stock Company of "Türkmen Hemrasy" has significantly enhanced the operational efficiency of the oil and gas, energy, industrial, and transport sectors.
The technical capabilities of the national satellite continue to attract major global broadcasting companies.

Currently, within the framework of large-scale projects such as “Älem TV,” viewers are provided with the world most popular news, sports, entertainment, and educational programs in HD format.

The glorious 11-year journey of “TürkmenÄlem52°E” in orbit demonstrates Turkmenistan full readiness to implement new space projects in the future. During this time, a new generation of highly qualified young specialists has emerged in the country, mastering the management of complex satellite systems.
