The first Central Asia–Germany Experts Forum will be held on April 16–17, 2026, in Khiva, according to the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.
The forum is organized by the institute in cooperation with the regional office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia and the Uzbekistan office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
More than 50 participants are expected to attend, including heads of think tanks, experts, and representatives of academic and business circles from Germany and Central Asian countries.
The forum aims to establish a permanent expert platform to support the Central Asia–Germany format with analytical input.
Key topics will include political dialogue, the development of economic cooperation and industrial partnerships, digital transformation, and strengthening human capital through academic exchanges and organized labor migration.
The Central Asia–Germany format (C5+1) is a strategic regional partnership between Germany and five Central Asian countries: Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
