The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree on the autumn conscription for military service

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree retiring conscripts and resuming the military draft, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

According to the document, in October-December 2025, conscripted military personnel who have served the required terms of service will be discharged from the Armed Forces, other troops, and military bodies of Turkmenistan.

During the same period, male citizens of Turkmenistan aged 18 to 27 who are not eligible for exemption from conscription or who have lost their right to a deferment will be called up for military service.

"This decree shall enter into force upon its publication," the document states.

Pursuant to the decree, the President signed an order instructing the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of National Security, the Head of the State Border Service, the Head of the Presidential Security Service of Turkmenistan, and the Chairman of the State Migration Service to conduct the discharge of military personnel in a ceremonial ceremony. Those who excelled in combat and social training will be rewarded.

The conscription is carried out in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service”.
