The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, Vepa Hadjiev, held a meeting with the Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RSS) Alexei Borodin, who is on a working visit to Geneva, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the RSS, the CIS interstate coordination body in the field of communications and informatization. The topic of holding major international events in the field of information and communication technologies in Turkmenistan was discussed separately.

Priorities and practical steps in the field of communications were also considered, both at the national level and in the international arena, which contributes to the promotion of a coordinated position of the countries of the region in the specialized agencies of the United Nations - the International Telecommunication Union and the Universal Postal Union. The parties also spoke in favor of holding joint events at the Geneva venue.
