On 23 June 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Mekan Ishangulyyev met with the newly appointed Chairman of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities of the Republic of Türkiye (YTB) c Abdulhadi Turus in Ankara.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues and prospects of development of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye in the field of education, science, sports and youth policy.

Special attention was paid to the results of the visit of the delegation of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities of Türkiye to Turkmenistan in April this year.

Also, during the meeting the sides discussed the issues of holding joint events in the Republic of Türkiye dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the status of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
