The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived on Monday on an official visit to the French Republic. At the International Airport of the Turkmen capital, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was seen off by officials, TDH reports.

Upon arrival at the Paris Orly Airport, decorated with the national flags of the two countries, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty was met by official representatives of France and members of the Turkmen delegation. An honor guard was lined up along the carpet from the plane's steps.

During a brief conversation at the airport, the French representative emphasized the high value of multilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan and wished Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a successful visit. In turn, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that this visit will give a powerful impetus to the further development of bilateral relations.

Turkmen-French cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere is developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats, political consultations between the foreign ministries are regularly held. Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to the development of relations with European countries, including France, based on the principles of equality, trust and mutual understanding, the report says.
