On April 11, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on holding the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in Turkmenistan.

According to the document, the four-day forum is to be held in Avaza from 5 to 8 August 2025 "at the highest possible level, including at the level of heads of state and government."

The Assembly welcomed and accepted "with appreciation the generous offer of the Government of Turkmenistan to host" a conference entitled "Progress Movement through partnerships."

In accordance with the resolution, after the Conference, the Ten-year Action Program (2024-2034) for Landlocked Developing Countries will be renamed the Avaza Program. The resolution was adopted by consensus with the co-authorship of 57 UN member states, the UN News Center reports.
