A large-scale environmental campaign has ended in Turkmenistan, during which 632 498 seedlings of various tree species were planted across the country, TDH reports.

In addition to planting new trees, more than 2.26 million existing trees were cared for as part of the event. Participants in the campaign also cleaned and improved parks and forest areas across the country.

The campaign was attended by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the head of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of law enforcement agencies, the diplomatic corps, international organizations and the public.

Such landscaping work is carried out in the country on a regular basis – twice a year, in spring and autumn, which allows for a significant increase in the country's green fund. Last autumn, 539 185 trees of various species were planted across the country as part of the environmental campaign.
