President of Turkmenistan Approves Proposal to Strengthen the Infrastructure of the "Balkan" Shipbuilding Plant

The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has approved a proposal to strengthen the infrastructure of the "Balkan" shipbuilding and ship repair plant, according to TDH.

At a government meeting, the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakiyev, reported to the head of state on efforts to strengthen the infrastructure of the national maritime and river transport sector. Currently, the "Balkan" plant carries out repairs of both local and foreign vessels and is also engaged in the construction of new ships for the national fleet.

The President noted that the construction of cargo ships is a new direction for the national industry and contributes to the enhancement of operations at the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.
