Turkmenistan will present its stands at the exhibition of economic achievements within the framework of the international forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”, which will be held in the capital of Tatarstan on May 14-19, 2024.
The key topics, according to the organizers, will be the Halal industry, Islamic finance, the development of transport corridors, and education. The topic of tourism, including medical tourism, will also be discussed in greater detail. The program on cultural issues has also been expanded: separate events will be held on digital Islamic art, the creative economy, and the film industry. An important topic will be the development of sports. The international forum of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will bring together business representatives from Islamic countries.
“Using the example of the Republic of Tatarstan, one of the leading Russian regions, one can see how Russia is expanding interaction with the Islamic world, along with establishing trade, economic and investment contacts, we are successfully developing cultural and humanitarian ties. Our republic is one of the pilot regions for introducing the principles of Islamic banking and financing in Russia, active work is underway to develop the Halal industry, and much attention is paid to Islamic education,” said the head of the Russia Strategic Vision Group at a meeting with the ambassadors of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation – Islamic world”, rayis of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The meeting took place on March 5 at the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.
Rais recalled that in 2022 Kazan received the status of the Youth Capital of the OIC and in 2025 in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the support of the federal authorities and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, it is planned to hold the First Islamic Youth Games. Athletes aged 14-16 from more than 40 countries of the Islamic world will compete in 20 sports.
